Suez Canal Economic Zone Desalination PPP – Selection of Technical, Environmental, and Social Consultant

The EBRD project relates to the development of the integrated economic zone adjacent to Ain Sokhna (“SCZone”), located on the western coast of the Gulf of Suez, part of the Red Sea, approximately 52 km south of Suez City. The first phase of this initiative involves the development of a desalination plant with a production capacity of 300,000 cubic meters per day. The General Authority intends to implement the project through a Public–Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The scope of work includes

  • Conduct feasibility studies including technical, environmental and social studies.
  • Preparation of procurement documents including the RFQ, RFP, Water Purchase Agreement and any other agreement relevant to implementing the Project under the PPP model.
  • Support in conducting an internationally competitive PPP procurement process. Such procurements shall meet both the local legislation and the EBRD Procurement Policy.
  • Support with commercial close entailing signing of project agreements.
  • Support with financial close entailing signing of the financing agreements.
