The project aims to improve wastewater treatment services in one of Cairo’s major treatment plants and, more broadly, to improve the overall sanitation service level in the southern part of the city, particularly in the Helwan area. The Helwan Wastewater Treatment Project will contribute to more effective and efficient climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts. Additionally, it will support the establishment of a sustainable and well-managed wastewater system in South Cairo, with a specific focus on the Helwan region.
