Consulting Services and Construction Supervision for the Rehabilitation of Kitchener Drain Projects in Kafr El-Sheikh

The project is divided into two packages. Package 1, which includes two wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), has already been designed and had its tender documents prepared by the Project Implementation Consultant (PIC). Package 2, comprising two additional WWTPs and two sewerage clusters, will be designed by Chemonics Egypt Consultants, which will also prepare the tender documents. During the construction phase and throughout the Defects Liability Period (DLP), Chemonics Egypt Consultants will act as the Engineer for both packages. The tendering approach will follow FIDIC contract models: the FIDIC Yellow Book for the new wastewater plants and expansion works, and the FIDIC Red Book for the rehabilitation of the existing WWTP and the sewerage works related to the two clusters.

The scope of work includes

• Provide technical assistance to the KSWSSC-PIU in the procurement process till award the contract.
• Conduct design review, construction supervision and quality control work.
• Preparation of tender documents for the rehabilitation works using the FIDIC Red Book, 1999.
• Conduct operation and maintenance (O&M) during testing period, commissioning of the plant and taking over, financial close-out and defect liability period (DLP).
• Review and approve the training plan and training material prepared by the Contractor and supervise the training delivery during the DLP to the KSWSSC selected staff.
