The main objectives of the project are to evaluate the feasibility of a set of identified best practices related to environmental sustainability measures and energy efficiency / renewable energy that can be introduced at hotels, and support with their implementation, as well as to develop and deliver a training and training of trainers (ToT) for experts and select staff members of hotels (50 hotels). The facility staff are to receive TA in implementation of measures as well as in financing those measures. The ultimate objective is to increase the sustainability of the hotel sector in Egypt. The project will include energy and environmental assessment and audits of about 30 sample facilities. Impact of facilities on biodiversity is to be assessed and recommendation of improved impact on biodiversity is to be developed.
