In 2021, the Egyptian Ministry of Environment has initiated the development of the Bio-based Economy Strategy (hereinafter referred to as the Strategy)3 which aims at maximizing the return on Egypt’s biological resources for the sustainable production of energy, materials and chemicals. At the request of the Ministry of Environment, the project will support the Ministry in the finalization and implementation of the Strategy by:
The above will be part of the project’s contribution to the upcoming 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to be hosted by Egypt in November 2022.
